Preparation & Planting

Soil preparation is an essential part of the farming cycle, both for the environment and new plants. We take great care of our soil, disturbing it only when necessary and reincorporating organic matter to ensure our crops have maximum nutrients available to them.

We take great care with our planting, using precision technology to get the perfect seed population per hectare, knowing exactly what was planted, where and when for traceability. Buffer strips are left between crops and waterways to ensure impact on nearby waterways is minimal.

Growing

Once in the ground, we want to give our crops everything they need to thrive. Nurturing growing plants is an essential part of the process and needs to be done in balance with the environment. We utilise leaf tests to assess the requirement of nutrients for optimal plant growth, which can then applied with Precision Ag equipment to show when and where the product was applied to show best practice guidelines are being met as a minimum.

Soil moisture is monitored to ensure that plants are never thirsty. It also helps us to minimise nutrient loss into waterways.

Harvesting

When our crops are ready, its time to harvest. Summer is our busiest time for harvesting, taking a variety of machinery, and skills, to get our crops from paddock to our packhouse. Seed crops are sent straight to the buyer and many of our vegetables are harvested so that they are available on supermarket shelves a matter of days later. Any produce stored is stored in perfect conditions so that it arrives on supermarket shelves as if it has come out of the paddock a few days ago.
